Rob Nash Saves The Lives Of Hundreds Of Youth With His Music & Tattoos Their Names On His Arm

Robb was the victim of a serious auto accident, a head on collision with a semi truck. He was found with a fractured skull and pronounced dead by first responders. But by the time the ambulance had arrived at the scene to take his body to the hospital, Robb’s pulse had miraculously returned. After a difficult recovery, and despite significant physical and emotional scars, Robb was left with a new outlook on life.

He started a band as a way to leverage the power of music to share his philosophy, and soon had songs in the Canadian Top 10. Robb saw musical success as a platform from which to influence and motivate young people. He put aside performing to large audiences, and began speaking to youth in their schools across the country, playing his songs and sharing their meaning with his young audiences.

Robb and his band bring their presentation to more than 200 schools each year, and have reached over 1 million students to date through school shows and social media. He walks head on into difficult topics, knowing that these are the things on young people’s minds; bullying, addiction, self harm and suicide.

A Childhood In Narnia: Alan Doyle Speaks With Me About Magic, Robin Hood, A Crazy Town In NS & Much More

I love this interview with Celtic Rock Singer Alan Doyle. He really knows how to tell a story.

I come from a small peninsula in Canada called Nova Scotia, which means New Scotland in the Latin. It’s a mix of many different cultures including the founding people of Nova Scotia, theMi’kmaq, as well as the Acadian’s, the British, the African Nova Scotian’s and the Irish & Scottish to name just a few.

Our culture is steeped in art, writing, storytelling and my favorite, music.

Music is such a part of who I am and musicians have inspired me on so many levels to reach high, overcome the odds and to find the joy within.

Whenever you are feeling heartbroken, excited, lonely or pumped up, you can count on music to be there for you supporting your emotions every step of the way.

In a previous podcast I told the story of two young girls, Lilly and Courtney, who are advocates for persons with disabilities as well as huge music lovers. They had one major dream in life and that was to meet Celtic Rock singer and songwriter Alan Doyle from the band Great Big Sea.

If you have never heard of Alan Doyle be prepared to fall in love. Not only is he an amazing musician but he is also an author and an actor and starred alongside Oscar Award Winning Actor, Russell Crowe, as one of his Merry Men in Robin Hood (2010). Most of all he is an amazing story teller and a downright awesome person!

I wanted to reach out to Alan to ask him about his own love of music and how he used that passion as a young boy, living in Petty Harbour Newfoundland, to transcend into the incredible performer he is today.

What happens After You Die? Country Rock Singer Rod Black Shares His Near Death Experience

What happens after you die? How does having a near death experience change you? When I was six years old flat lined after enduring a severe Grand-Mal (Tonic Clonic) seizure. Although I was so young I was given the gift and understand through my near death experience that we are not alone, that there is so much more beyond this physical realm.

It has been something that has been a blessing but also a very confusing “knowing” especially when you combine it with teenage hormones and the constant journey of finding your truth in a world that tries to continually define “normal.” A normal you never really could relate to.

Join me for this episode of Cara Jones Speaks as I talk about my own Near Death Experience and interview Country Rock singer Rod Black about his own Near Death Experience. Welcome to the Cara-Normal!

Meet Alan Doyle from their favourite band Great Big Sea. Find out how I their dream finally came true!

I love myself today: My interview with Canadian Rocker Bif Naked!

When experiencing heartbreak you literally feel like a part of you is dying, and in some ways it is. Maybe it’s the part of you that no longer wants to put up with being treated like crap anymore, or maybe it’s the dying of old patterns you keep repeating over and over. Soon time heals wounds but in the process you take it day by day and try your best to love yourself.

The songs from Canadian rock star Bif Naked were some of my favorites during this heart breaking times in my life. The hard rock sound with word that spoke to my experience were my saving grace. I played them on repeat and reminded myself that in “My moments of weakness” I need to learn to “Love myself today” and to put on my “Tango shoes that help me dance without you.” They became the anthems of empowerment that reminded me of my self-love.

Bif Naked is an International Recording Artist, Poet, Writer, Motivational Speaker, breast cancer survivor and a kick ass person.

She has travelled the globe with her killer rock tunes and is a legend and icon to all those who know her art.

I sat down with Bif and asked her some questions about what was happening in her life at the time she wrote these iconic tunes. Check it out!
